Donald Trump’s Election For A Second Presidential Term In The US Has Emboldened Fascists And Misogynists Worldwide

The world has witnessed a notable surge in the number of political and other public figures willing to openly embrace fascism, misogyny, xenophobia and right wing extremism. Once thought of as an effective means for committing professional suicide, the significant increase in the political voices promoting these unpalatable ideologies is attributed by many to the fast-spreading belief that Trump has laid bare their intrinsic appeal among the masses, thus empowering more right wing lunatics and bigots to go public about their prejudices.

In recent posts on X, Babet has endorsed the chauvinistic and insane ramblings of world-famous misogynist, alleged sex trafficker and proponent of the “Your body, my choice” movement, Andrew Tate, whilst publicising his own affinity for racial and homophobic slurs and daring some of the people that he represents and is responsible for looking after to “cry more” and complain about their outrage at his gross impropriety, all from the official account he holds as a Member of the Australian Parliament.

Babet was censured by the Australian Parliament on Monday for the use of “repugnant” and “abhorrent” words that have no place in “civil conduct and debate in 2024”.

Identifying that their client may be exposed to some liability for destroying the careers of impressionable bigots around the world, especially in tort law friendly jurisdictions in which judges have not been appointed by Trump, Trump lawyers issued a public statement this morning warning “fascism and bigotry enthusiasts around the world” to “refrain from re-enacting the antics of the Trump campaign”.
